Mixte Magazine

Il y a trente ans naissait Mixte, l’un des premiers magazines français de mode homme-femme à repenser les normes de genre, bousculant au passage les codes de la presse magazine. Aujourd’hui, c’est donc l’occasion de rappeler que pendant ses trente ans d’existence (dont quinze ans d’indépendance), Mixte a toujours été, par le biais de rencontres et de collaborations, le terrain d’expression d’une liberté créative et éditoriale, avec pour seule ligne directrice celle de se faire le reflet de son époque en racontant la mode et le monde au travers d’images fortes et de sujets engagés. Baptisé “We are Mixte / We are 30”, ce numéro anniversaire se veut avant tout un éloge et une prolongation de cette identité singulière, mais aussi et surtout une déclaration d’amour à la mode et à la création dans ce qu’elles ont de plus noble aujourd’hui. Ainsi, au-delà de nos grandes séries mode – parmi lesquelles celles des photographes Léa Wormsbach, Julius Bohlin et Nicola Pagano qui témoignent de l’importance de (se) célébrer en communauté, vous pourrez vous plonger dans l’histoire des trente années qui ont façonné Mixte, ainsi que dans une série de trente témoignages partagés par trente personnalités ayant croisé notre route. Dès lors, vous pourrez vous consacrer à nos entretiens fleuves avec les designers Meryll Rogge (Marni), Emeric Tchatchoua (3.Paradis) et Chitose Abe (Sacai), notre dossier jeune création consacré ici à six designers indépendants en plein passage de la trentaine, sans oublier nos interviews croisées exclusives de Lucien Pagès face à Loïc Prigent, ou de Walter Van Beirendonck face à Craig Green, qui chacun à leur manière nous font part de leur vision de l’industrie. When it was founded thirty years ago, Mixte was one of the first French men’s and women’s fashion magazines to rethink gender norms and challenge the conventions of the industry. So today’s anniversary is an opportunity to remember that throughout its 30 years of existence (including 15 years as an independent publication), Mixte has always remained, through countless encounters and collaborations, a platform for creative and editorial freedom. Guided solely by the desire to reflect its era, the magazine continues to tell the story of fashion and the world around it through powerful visuals and thought-provoking stories. Titled “We are Mixte / We are 30,” this issue is intended first and foremost as a tribute to and an extension of this unique identity, but also and above all, as a love letter to fashion and creativity in their noblest forms. Alongside our stunning fashion series – including those by photographers Léa Wormsbach, Julius Bohlin, and Nicola Pagano, which highlight the importance of celebrating (oneself) as a community – you’ll be able to delve into Mixte’s 30-year history, as well as a collection of 30 personal stories shared by 30 figures we crossed path with along the way. You’ll also be able to read our in-depth interviews with designers Meryll Rogge (Marni), Emeric Tchatchoua (3.Paradis), and Chitose Abe (Sacai); our young creators feature on six independent designers in their thirties; not forgetting our exclusive joint interviews with Lucien Pagès and Loïc Prigent, and with Walter Van Beirendonck and Craig Green, who each, in their own way, share their vision of the industry with us.
